Ken and Martha Tuck
Back in June of 2013, my husband and I met this amazing couple. We didn't know how much they would impact our lives, but with serving God along side of them, we formed a bond. We became family. They have encouraged us when we felt like giving up, they might not have known we felt that way but their words and love helped us through whatever we were going through. They show REAL love, not superficial love, but the kind of love that has no cut off point. If someone did something that wasn't quite right Martha always says "We just have to love them anyways". You don't see a lot of people like that today. That's what's truly amazing to me about them, there's not many people like them. It's kind of sad, but amazing in a way. How many people, better yet, Christians do we know that have created an organization that helps the "least of these"? How many people do you know would go out into the woods to search for homeless people just to offer them food and prayer? Ken Tuck even quit his job to go into full time ministry, but that's not the ministry that comes with a comfy church. That ministry is going to other countries, some possibly dangerous, and preach the gospel. This Tuesday, they are leaving to go to different parts of Asia and preach. Some of those places they are going were closed countries not too long ago. Some places they can't tell us they're going to. They are going to be missed while they are gone for those 6+ weeks but we know this is God's calling for them and we know God has and will do great things through them on this trip.
I personally want to say thank you. Thank you for showing Jesse and I what the true meaning of being a Christian is. Thank you for being there and being family to us. Thank you for trusting me to run the clinic while you are gone. I feel as though I don't deserve it but you saw something in me that I don't see. Words cannot describe how much you guys mean to us. I don't know where we would be without you. I don't know what this community would do if it wasn't for you! How many hurting, lonely, and hungry people would get off the bus and have no one to talk to, pray with them, or give them food? How many homeless people would go without care from a doctor? How many countries would go without hearing about Jesus? Because of your obedience.....you've made a difference in this community and in the world. The love of God shines from you guys. We have seen you pray, inspire, and dance people to Christ in Haiti. I can't wait to hear about what you are going to do in Myanmar, China, The Philippines, and where ever else God leads you. Those places are going to find Jesus, and they are going to find Him through you. They may also discover "What does the fox say" and if they do, YOU BETTER RECORD IT!!!
Words cannot describe what you guys mean to us and everyone at Love In Action. You are an amazing couple and we are proud to call you our family! We are going to miss you guys like crazy while you're gone. We will try to keep Mama Tuck in line until she leaves, but we can't make no promises. Again, Thank you!

Pamela, I can't properly say how reading your blog touched me. You and Jesse are so precious and special to Martha and me. You are right, we are family. It is a great honor to serve Jesus with both of you. You two have already done so many amazing things for Jesus this past year. I can't wait to see what else He does through y'all this year and beyond. You both are starting off living for Jesus at young ages. I wish I would have. I pray that both of you will do far greater things than Martha and I will ever do for Jesus, and I know y'all will. Anything we can do and say to encourage you both we will.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very special family at LIA, and we are family. Jesus says in Matthew 12:48-50, " But He replied to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, that person is My brother and sister and mother."
That's how I see us at LIA. Thank you so much for this tribute. And I promise, if I can teach people in Asia, what does the fox say, I will videotape it. :-)
I know you will do a great job running the clinic. You know how to and already do a great job with it. Thank you. And thank you and Jesse for serving Jesus so faithfully. We love you both and will miss you both tremendously. And, we look forward to our next mission trip together. May God continue to bless you both.
